Timber industry experts recently discussed solutions to tackle the difficulties caused by the global economic downturn.

In the Workshop “Evaluation of WTO two-year integration impacts on wood processing and handicraft sector” organized in Ho Chi Minh city on 28th Nov 2008, the impacts of Vietnam WTO integration on wood processing industry were mentioned.

In the last seven years Vietnam's forest industry has shown remarkable achievments. The export turnover of timber products has multiplied almost tenfold and is likely to reach 2,5 USD billion by the end of 2007.
